Maureen Joyce is an accomplished artist who lives north of her hometown of Toronto in the thriving community of Bond Head.
She’s called Bond Head home since the early years of her marriage and motherhood when her creative outlets were limited to what she could do around the house. Several art courses and photography classes followed before returning to the work force. Maureen spent 21 years with the McMichael Canadian Art Collection and during her tenure became acquainted with renowned Canadian artist A.J. Casson and Doris McCarthy.
These relationships served to increase her knowledge, appreciation and passion for the arts.
In 1999 following a battle with cancer Maureen’s focus shifted and she chose to pursue her passion for art. She has spent the past 14 years working under the tutelage of celebrated teachers and now works primarily in watercolour, acrylic and mixed media. Her paintings have been in juried and non juried shows.
Maureen is a co-founding member of the Bradford West Gwillimbury Studio Tour along with fellow artist Stella Wadsworth, which just completed its 7th successful season. She is a member of the Society of York Regional Artists, South Simcoe Arts Council and Artists of the Gibson. Maureen enjoys a successful art career and her work is now found in private collections across Canada.
