Corrine Donnelly

I paint mostly with a watercolour batik method on rice paper. Its repeated layers of paraffin over paint make for an intricate and fun process. An eye dropper filled with hot wax is my newest painting tool. My subject matter has ranged from symbolic dragonflies, to fairy folk and their trees. My current “lofty” writing and painting aim is to present aging as a gift that is worth cherishing - these ideas are pretty well still in the jelling stage:)

Past exhibits include BWG's Art Tours, our Board of Trade's “Art Oasis”, Alliston's Gibson Centre, and our town's newest art space, the United Church. A York Region writers' event, “The Bookshelf”, provided me with a very different opportunity where the highlight was on my poetry. My poems' companion paintings were there mostly for support.

We have lived in Bradford since 1977, and I enjoy being part of Bradford's expanding arts community.
