William Burlton

I have lived in Bradford since 1983. I retired in the year 2000. I have always liked working with wood. I started making toys and rocking horses for my grandchildren. I bought a lathe and began to make wooden pens and pencils.

I had great success with them but wanted to move on to bigger projects. I tried making vases and bowls which I found very challenging. I enlisted the help of George Burt who is a very accomplished wood turner. After lots of practice with George I began to work on my own.

I have a great feeling of pride and satisfaction when I make something out of a beautiful piece of wood. Everything I make is unique and one of a kind.
