John Neill

When I retired I wanted something to do with my leisure time. I had always wanted to take up painting and to learn to play the piano. Now I am doing both.

I took to acrylic immediately. It suited my personality more than either oil or watercolor. I liked the fast drying time (that so many complain about) because I don't have to wait long to paint over my many mistakes.

I guess you could say I am self-taught but with a lot of good workshops along the way and the kind encouragement and helpful ideas I get from the group I paint with every week, the Artists at the Gibson.
