Ingrid was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1960. Her interest in art developed at an early age and by the time she finished secondary school, spent much of her time completing commissions from fellow classmates and friends. Upon graduation, Ingrid enrolled in the Illustration program at Sheridan College where she studied Printmaking, Painting and Design. Following college, she began a career as a freelance illustrator and in 1985 opened her first frame shop and gallery. By the mid 90’s Ingrid was working exclusively with interior designers and architects sourcing artwork for their projects, corporate and residential.
By the fall of 2010, Ingrid realized that the recession of 2008 had taken its toll on the arts and she decided to close her beloved business and gallery. Thus began her journey to discover a new career path. She knew she would have to combine her 30-year career as an art consultant with her long commitment and passion of working with young people. In 2013, Ingrid completed the Education Assistant program at KLC College. Engaging her students through art and enabling them to explore and develop their creative talents soon became her new passion.
Ingrid’s original paintings and mixed-media collages are inspired by the history and romance of the past while incorporating the rich textures and colours of the present. Her current style fuses her deep love of traditional painting with an equal passion for the vibrancy of modern life. Her work can be found in several galleries, corporate and private collections.
